This is a distinctive insignia for the United States Army 37th Infantry Regiment. The DI is a shield showing a wavy line for the Rio Grande, where the 37th first served, and a lone star for Texas. The DI reads FOR FREEDOM.
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" in height and 1-1/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The DI shows only some small areas of light to moderate wear; one corner of the enameled areas has been chipped.
