This is a distinctive insignia for the United States Army 2nd Infantry Regiment. The DI is a shield bearing the Confederate flag's cross, a crossed bolo knife and missile, a star, a quiver with arrows and a five-bastioned fortress. The DI reads NOLI ME TANGERE (do not touch me).
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/8" in height and 1-1/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts.
