ARTIFACT: This is a distinctive insignia for the United States Army 2nd Military Railway Service, a unit that had less than one hundred men. The insignia shows a lion with an eagle's head and wings and the service's motto: PER ANGUSTA AD AUGUSTA (through difficulties to triumph).

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: 1-1/4" height and 1-1/16" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass with multi-colored enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single-screw pin with aluminum disc backing.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBJX97 LADEX 4/10

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): This badge has almost no wear except on back and beautiful coloring.
