This is a German-made distinctive insignia for the United States Army 497th Military Police Battalion Railway Security. The DI is a boldly colored crest showing the flags of both France and Germany and the rooster and the lion, respectively. An eagle protecting a train soars at center.
VINTAGE:Circa Occupation period.
SIZE:1-3/8" height and 1-1/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass with enameled areas.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing.
MARKINGS:LAUER NURNBERG.

CONDITION:8+ (Excellent): DI has virtually no wear.
