ARTIFACT: This is a rare DI for the United States Army 278th Engineer Combat Battalion from the World War II Occupation Period. The 278th served in Belgium, participating in the Battle of the Bulge, and also in Germany. The DI has a coppery hue and is enameled in red and white. It is German-made.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II Occupation Period.

SIZE: Approximately 1-5/16" in height and 1-1/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Copper-plated brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months VBEX13 LBGEX4/13 STRVBEJX01/19

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The DI shows very little wear.
