Description
This is a German-made distinctive insignia for the United States Army 709th Military Police Battalion. The DI is a beautiful mossy green showing a golden galley ship in full sail bearing a fleur-de-lis and reads SECURITAS COPIARUM (Guardians of the Troops). The fleur-de-lis represents service in France, which started when the battalion landed at Normandy in 1944.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II era.
SIZE:1-3/16" height and 1-1/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass with green enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): DI shows very little wear with one slight nick in enamel.
