Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a unit plaque from the jeep of the commanding officer of the United States Army 793rd Field Artillery Battalion. The 793rd was a tractor-drain howitzer unit that served at Normandy, as well as in northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and at campaigns in central Europe.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 8-1/2" high and 10-1/2" wide.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Painted galvanized tin.

ATTACHMENT:

Six holes.

None.

CONDITION:

6+ (Fine-Very Fine): plaque has several abrasions and spots where paint has come away.
