This is a super cool circa 1946-1947 DI (distinctive insignia) for the United States Army 709th Military Police Battalion Motorcycle Traffic Platoon. The 709th also had a mounted horse platoon, and the two units were stationed in Germany during the Occupation Period. The DI is German-made, and shows a great skull wearing a leather biker cap and goggles.
VINTAGE:Circa 1946-1947.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 1-1/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts with clutchbacks.
MARKINGS:None.
