This is a very rare German-made United States Army 7th (Lucky Seven) Aviation Company distinctive insignia. The insignia has a red border and shows a striking design of a praying mantis complete with top hat and cape blown by the force of the wind.
VINTAGE:Circa 1945-1946.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/8" diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass and enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal kick pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): DI is in beautiful shape with very slight wear.
