This is a stunning textbook example of a World War I United States Air Service pilot wing by Homrighous Co. of Memphis, Tennessee. The wing is in sterling silver and has fantastic detailing.
Because of a flaw in the maker's mark stamp, these wings were known forever as HomriChous instead of the correct HomriGhous.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War I.
SIZE:11/16" height and 3-5/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver with gold-plated details.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with "C" catch; four links between wings and shield at center.
MARKINGS:HOMRIGHOUS CO. MEMPHIS STERLING.
