This is a Beautiful World War I United States Air Service Junior Military Aviator / Pilot Wing by Homrighous of Memphis in Sterling.
We have not had one of these beautiful wings on the web site in over a decade!
This example is very exquisitely engraved. It has a bit of a jaunty, angled look to the US. The original open tongue-type C catch was replaced during the period of wear with a Tiffany type locking catch. The wing is slightly tweaked, which does not detract. In fact, it adds more to the jaunty look the US gives the wing and makes one wonder what sort of adventures in the cockpit may have caused the slight twist to the wing. A wonderful example of a very rare wing.
