ARTIFACT:
This is a beautiful World War I United States Air Service pilot wing in the link pattern by William Link Company along with provenance paperwork. The wing has a crest of stars and stripes at center labeled US and belonged to Captain Eddie Dougherty. There is also the original postage portion of the envelope and correspondence from Meyer's Military Shop in D.C., who mailed the wing to Captain Dougherty at his Fort Sam Houston location, as well as a handwritten index card synopsis.

Circa World War I.

3" wing.

Sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal pin with Tiffany-style catch.

STERLING W CO with maker's mark.
