ARTIFACT: This is a sterling silver distinctive insignia for the United States Army 240th Coastal Artillery Regiment, which was Harbor Defense for the greater Portland are in Maine. The DI is a white crest with a blue star-spangled banner bearing a phoenix rising from flames. The crest reads SEMPER PRIMUS ET FIDELIS (Always First and Faithful) at bottom.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II era.

SIZE: Approximately 1" in height x 7/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with come-under locking catch.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): DI has light wear and tarnish, small flake of enamel missing, much of the enamel remains intact, overall very fine condition.
