Description
This is a sterling silver distinctive insignia for the United States Army 240th Coastal Artillery Regiment, which was Harbor Defense for the greater Portland are in Maine. The DI is a white crest with a blue star-spangled banner bearing a phoenix rising from flames. The crest reads SEMPER PRIMUS ET FIDELIS (Always First and Faithful) at bottom.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II era.
SIZE:Approximately 1" in height x 7/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking catch.
