This is a Small But Beautiful Civil War era 1860's US Customs Inspector Badge in Silver by the Bureau of Engraving. 

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing is a government agency within the United States Department of the Treasury that designs and produces a variety of security products for the United States government.

VINTAGE:

Civil War era, 1860s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/2" in height x 1-1/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Silver.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical T-style pin with C catch.
