ARTIFACT: This is a Civil War United States Army 9th Corps badge in silver. This piece was found at an estate sale in Maine along with a pair of infantry captain"s shoulder straps from the Civil War, which are for sale separately as the previous item in this category (straps are pictured above). The name of the original owner was lost long ago. Embellished with decorative flourishes and intricately bordered, the badge shows an anchor and carefully shaded cannon married at center by a loop of rope.

VINTAGE: Circa Civil War.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/16" in height and 1" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silver with brass pin.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical T-style pin with "C" catch.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. PCJJX10 LGIEX12/10 SFEJX3/13

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The badge is in beautiful shape with very slight wear and tarnish on reverse.
