Scarce Spanish-American War Spanish Navy Chief Petty Officer hat badge. The ornate gilt badge is oval with an anchor at its center, and is topped with an intricately embellished crown with red velvet behind. The center of the badge is slightly convex and the center oval is covered in velvet.

Approximately 2-3/8" in height and 1-5/16" in width.

Multi-piece construction, gilt brass, velvet.

Vertical T-style pin with C catch, bendable prongs.
