ARTIFACT: Scarce, early WWII United States Army Air Forces Headquarters distinctive insignia (DI) pin. The pin is round and shows a white five-pointed star with a red center against a blue background. The reverse shows a maker's mark that reads: "A.H. DONDERO INC. WASH, DC STERLING"

VINTAGE: Circa early WWII

SIZE: Approximately 7/8" in diameter

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled, plated sterling

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop in locking swivel catch

MARKINGS: "A.H. DONDERO INC. WASH, DC STERLING"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USAAF collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEX00 LAAEX2/16

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The DI shows moderate surface wear, much of the plating and enamel details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
