ARTIFACT: Scarce WWII United States Army Air Forces 43rd Service Group / 43rd Air Base Group distinctive insignia (DI) by Dondero. The gilt and enameled DI depicts a leafy, stemmed red rose against a yellow background and a scroll along the bottom reads: "SERVICE AND SECURITY" in black enamel detail.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/16" x 15/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, enamel

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch

MARKINGS: "A. H. DONDERO INC. WASH. D.C."

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USAAF collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAAX16 LAGEX12/16

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The DI shows minor to moderate wear, much of the enamel and gilt details remain intact, overall excellent condition.
