Description
Rare WWII United States Army Air Forces War Eagle Field Flight Training Squadron 16 jacket patch. The brightly colored patch was designed by Disney and depicts a stork wearing the US Army star and carrying a young 'aviator' in its beak, above reads: "SQUADRON" and below: "WEF" in yellow detail and the number: "16" is embroidered in white on the stork's beak. Originally the Dos Palos base in California trained RAF and RCAF pilots, but after the attack on Pearl Harbor the US entered the war.
