Description
This is a rare World War II Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) operational wings badge. This badge was given to a crew member for the completion of at least one tour, or awarded posthumously for at least one sortie against the enemy resulting in death. The badge is in sterling silver and gilt brass by Birks, and is a small winged "O".
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 3/8" in height and 1-1/2" in length.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt Sterling Silver, gilt brass.
ATTACHMENT:Double screw back with original backings, back plate.
MARKINGS:BIRKS STERLING beneath plate.
