ARTIFACT: This is a scarce World War II Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) operational wings badge. This badge was given to a crew member for the completion of at least one tour, or awarded posthumously for at least one sortie against the enemy resulting in death. The badge is by Birks, and is a small winged "O".

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 3/8" in height and 1-1/2" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT: Two screw posts, domed disc backings, back plate.

MARKINGS: BIRKS STERLING on back of badge, under plate.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Great Britain and Commonwealth militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VCEX12 LAFEX12/12 SLCJJX1/16

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some light wear and tarnish.
