This is a rare World War II German-made Bulgarian pilot, literally "Flyer of Transport Aircraft", badge. The beautiful design shows a golden eagle in flight and rays of the sun against a robin's-egg blue sky. The Bulgarian coat of arms is at the bottom of the badge's wreath, and a crown is at the top.
VINTAGE:Circa WWII.
SIZE:About 1-1/2" x 2"
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt and plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Threaded sleeve, screw backing, stabilization post.
MARKINGS:Friedrich Sedlatzek Berlin S.W. 68 Friedrichstr 205 (on backing).
