Description
This is a scarce World War II Bulgarian Air Force pilot, or literally, "Flyer of Transport Aircraft", badge. The badge is Bulgarian-made and is maker-marked on reverse. The beautiful design shows a golden eagle in flight and rays of the sun against a robin's-egg blue sky. The Bulgarian coat of arms is at the bottom of the badge's wreath, and a crown is at the top.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/8" in height x 1-1/2" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt and plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing.
MARKINGS:Maker mark with 3-23-89 at center (mark on backing as well).
