ARTIFACT:

This is a rare desk plaque for the United States Navy 90th Naval Construction Battalion, or "Seabees". Activated July 25, 1943, the 90th served in the Pacific Theatre. The plaque is in heavy relief and was made at Iwo Jima in cast aluminum. It shows a soldier kneeling with his gun at center.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 4-1/4" in height and 4-5/8" in width and 1" in thickness.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Cast aluminum.
