ARTIFACT: This is a rare General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD), or simply Mayflower Society, medal named to Richard H. (Howland) Maxwell of Plymouth, Massachusetts. Maxwell, who passed away in 2003, was a descendant of Mayflower voyager and Pilgrim John Howland on his maternal side. He served as a Governor for the Society from 1993 until 1998 and was also a reverend in the Methodist faith and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

VINTAGE: Circa mid-1990s.

SIZE: Approximately 3-1/2" in height and 1-5/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-filled, silk.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin on bar with come-under swivel locking catch, suspension ring, ribbon.

MARKINGS: 1993-1998 Richard H. Maxwell Massachusetts 8191 1/10 10K.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The medal shows very little wear.
