Description
This is a rare Model 1946 Spanish Air Force non-commissioned officer pilot dagger with hangers. The dagger has a Fabrica Nacional Toledo (National Arsenal) "FN" maker mark on the ricasso. It comes in its original scabbard with decorative bands and chained hangers. The guard has a small wing on one side and a crest on the reverse.
VINTAGE:Circa 1946.
SIZE:Approximately 19-1/4" in length and 3-1/2" in width (at guard); blade only: 14-1/8" in length and 3/4" in width; scabbard only: approximately 15-5/8" in length and 1" in width; about 20-1/4" total length (while in scabbard); hanger hangs about 10" in length off dagger.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Steel blade, painted grip, chrome-plated brass scabbard.
ATTACHMENT:Hanger with buckles and clips.
MARKINGS:FN TOLEDO (Fabrica Nacional /National Arsenal maker mark) under crown.
