Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a rare circa late 1920s distinctive insignia for the United States Army 128th Infantry Regiment. The shield-shaped DI is enameled in blue with a red arrow at center and a badger at its top. It reads LES TERRIBLES (The Terrible Ones) across the bottom. It was made by Whitehead & Hoag.

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1920s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/16" in height and 13/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS:

W&H CO. (Whitehead & Hoag Company maker mark).

ITEM NOTES:
