ARTIFACT: This is a post-1943 Italian Air Force pilot wing. The wing is an eagle clutching a fasces from which the original crown was removed by a jeweler. Typically pilots who remained loyal to Mussolini or the fascist cause after his death removed the crown from their wing and retained the fasces. The wing has a Florentine maker's mark.

VINTAGE: Circa post-1943.

SIZE: 5/8" height and 2-15/16" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with Italian-style plunger-style catch.

MARKINGS: PICCHIANI-BARLACCHI FIRENZE.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): Wing is in beautiful shape with light tarnishing.
