Description
This is a post-1943 Italian Air Force pilot wing. The wing is an eagle clutching a fasces from which the original crown was removed by a jeweler. Typically pilots who remained loyal to Mussolini or the fascist cause after his death removed the crown from their wing and retained the fasces. The wing has a Florentine maker's mark.
VINTAGE:Circa post-1943.
SIZE:5/8" height and 2-15/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with Italian-style plunger-style catch.
