ARTIFACT:

This is a NASA Apollo XVI Beta Cloth Mission Patch. The mission launched April 16, 1972 with crew members Young, Mattingly and Duke. This was the Lunar Rover Mission, and 2nd to Last.

VINTAGE:

1972.

SIZE:

About 7-1/2" in width by 7-1/2" in height.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Printed Beta Cloth, the same material used for the outer skin of the space suits.

ATTACHMENT:

To be sewn onto garment.

CONDITION:

9 (Excellent-Near Mint): In wonderful condition, uncut; some residue left on outer edges of cloth apparently from being taped to something at one time (see image below).
