ARTIFACT:

This is a named 1942 retired fireman badge from Cleveland (Ohio) Fire Department. The badge belonged to John J. Gadus, and the reverse of the badge reads APPOINTED AUG. 15, 1913 RETIRED JAN. 15, 194The badge shows a modified version of the seal of Ohio at its center.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1942.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-3/8" in height and 1-7/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass with painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with drop-in locking catch (pin is missing).

MARKINGS:

None.
