ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1960s Boston Fire Department retirement or honorary badge named to Edward J. Anderson. There was a Doctor of Education and former member of the United States Navy by this name who taught at Boston University and Harvard, and this badge could have been a presentation badge given to him. Or it could simply be a retirement badge for a firefighter of that same name. The badge is in gold plate.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1960s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-7/8" in height and 1-3/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
