Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 1930s-1940s Boston Fire Department "Fire Lines" badge for a Boston Globe reporter. The "fire line" badge functioned as a press pass at fire scenes. This one is numbered 54.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s-1940s.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-7/8" in height and 1-3/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel-plated brass with painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

None.

CONDITION:

8 (Excellent-): The badge shows very little wear with only some small apots on reverse.
