This is a beautiful ca. 1906 Boston Fire Department badge with retirement engraving on the back reading: "John J. Burke Appointed April 30, 1906 retired October 3, 1945".
VINTAGE:Circa 1945.
SIZE:About 1-1/2" in width by 2-3/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Silver-plated nickel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with a "drop-in" locking catch.
MARKINGS:None.
