Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa late World War II patch-type distinctive insignia for the United States Army 24th Infantry Division, also known as the "Victory Division". The insignia is brightly colored and shows a taro leaf, which is foliage indigenous to Hawaii (the 24th was formed when the Hawaiian Division disbanded). The DI is by N.S. Meyer Inc.

VINTAGE:

Circa late World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 1" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

N. S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK, raised maker mark.
