Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a late 1950s stewardess wing for Blatz Air Lines, which was founded in 1947 by F.A. Blatz. Blatz flew routes between California and Nevada. The wing is nicely embroidered in gold bullion threads and reads BAL against the shape of the state of Nevada.

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1950s.

SIZE:

Approximately 7/8" in height by 2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wool embroidered in gold bullion threads.

CONDITION:

7- (Very Fine-): The wing shows some light to moderate wear and slight tarnish; there is slight movement to the wing because there is no stiffener backing it.
