Description
Late 1940's United States Atomic Energy Commission Protection Force shoulder patch, established after WWII by Harry Truman's Congress, the force was established to foster and control the peacetime development of atomic science and technology. The Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) developed a wide range of groundbreaking techniques to help further scientific research. AEC projects were designed to examine the effects of nuclear energy upon the environment. The patch reads: "Protective Force - USAEC" in light blue thread
