ARTIFACT:

This is a rare and large late 1940s Indian Motocycles "Laughing Indian" logo lapel badge. Indian Motocycles started burning rubber in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1901, made first under the name Hendee Manufacturing Company. The badge is by Bastian Brothers.


This is from a early motocycle motorcycle motorcycles company collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months.

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1940s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 3/4" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with come-under swivel locking catch.

MARKINGS:

INDIAN MOTORCYCLES and BASTIAN BROS. CO. ROCHESTER N.Y.
