Description
This is a large and colorful souvenir pillowcase from Camp Tobey for the United States Army 197th Coast Artillery Regiment (Anti-Aircraft), a part of the New Hampshire National Guard. The regiment's coat of arms is in the top corner and reads A BAS L'AVION (down with the plane). Camp Tobey is an unknown camp, most likely in New Hampshire for a short time. The border is pleated and the felt letters have been shaded to give a burnished look.
VINTAGE:Circa 1929.
SIZE:Approximately 23-1/4" by 23" (not including foam board).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Felt (some painted) on felt, embroidered in cotton/silk threads.

ITEM NOTES:This pillowcase will be shipped unwrapped and folded without the foam board, unless arrangements are made for pick-up or special shipping to preserve the shrink wrap mounting. CONDITION:7- (Very Fine): The pillowcase shows little wear or fading with a few very small moth holes and one small piece missing from the border.
