ARTIFACT: Great WWII United States Army 202nd Field Artillery Group Command Post Sign from the European Theater of Operations. Created by Corporal William Shirley Jr. of C. Battery, the sign depicts a US artillery round bearing down on a running scared, German soldier, his swastika - festooned helmet flying off his head. Classic!

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately 16-1/2" x 12"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted paper board

MARKINGS: "CPL. WILLIAM SHIRLEY JR. C BATTERY" handwritten in ink on reverse

ITEM NOTES: This is from a US Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAJJX15 LCDEX4/16

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The command post sign shows moderate to heavy wear, a few creases near base and corners (do not detract), much of the painted detail remains intact.
