Great Early WWII Pan Am "Clipper" Souvenir Pin

This is an early World War II Pan Am "Clipper" souvenir pin. The "Clipper" style plane was popular in the 1930s and the crews even dressed in navy-like garb to bestow a feeling of safety in the passengers, who believed they were traveling in an airborne version of an ocean liner. The pin is in two parts connected by a chain: one part is a "clipper" plane and the other part is the letters US.

Circa early World War II.

Clipper pin: approximately 1/2" in height and 13/16" in width; US pin: approximately 1/4" in height and 5/16" in width; chain approximately 1-1/4" in length.

Gold-plated brass.

Two horizontal safety-style pins with linked chain and two loops.
