Description
This is an early 1930s Pan Am Miami "Clipper" souvenir pin. The "Clipper" style plane was popular in the 1930s and the crews even dressed in navy-like garb to bestow a feeling of safety in the passengers, who believed they were traveling in an airborne version of an ocean liner. The pin is in two parts joined by a chain: one part is a winged propeller and the other is a coin-like pin flanked by the letters U and S showing a Clipper in relief.
