Description
This is a World War era Pan Am patriotic "Clipper" pin. The "Clipper" style plane was popular in the 1930s and the crews even dressed in navy-like garb to bestow a feeling of safety in the passengers, who believed they were traveling in an airborne version of an ocean liner. The pin is in two parts connected by a chain: one part is a "Clipper" plane and the other part is an enameled American flag.
