ARTIFACT: This is a World War era Pan Am patriotic "Clipper" pin. The "Clipper" style plane was popular in the 1930s and the crews even dressed in navy-like garb to bestow a feeling of safety in the passengers, who believed they were traveling in an airborne version of an ocean liner. The pin is in two parts connected by a chain: one part is a "Clipper" plane and the other part is an enameled American flag.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Plane pin: approximately 7/16" in height and 13/16" in width; flag pin: approximately 3/8" in height and 9/16" in width; chain approximately 1-1/4" in length.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass, enameled areas.

ATTACHMENT: Two horizontal safety-style pins with linked chain and two loops.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an airline company collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. E06/26/21 MEX97 LIEX12/10

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): This pin shows light wear and some small spots of discoloration on enamel, and you will receive either this pin or one with very few differences, if any.
