This is a great circa 1900 New Orleans Police Special Officer Badge. This is basically the equivalent of a "Special Police" badge. This is an early style nickel plated nickel badge with a one piece pin. It's a simple circle star badge, but has a great look to it.
More ornate examples of this badge, soe in silver and even gold, are more "Honorary", "Juice", or Presentation badges.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1900.
SIZE:Size 1-3/4" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel plated Nickel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety type pin with open C type catch.
