This is a great old circa 1910s railroad car lock from the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad (N.Y., N.H. & H.). The N.Y., N.H. & H operated from 1872 until 196The lock is in cast iron with a brass keyhole cover with a star embellishment on the point at which the cover swivels. The car lock has its original chain.
VINTAGE:Circa 1910s.
SIZE:Approximately 4" x 2-1/2" 7/8" in thickness: chain length: 9-1/2".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Cast iron, brass.
ATTACHMENT:Chain, swiveling key hole cover.
