Gilt Sterling WWII USO United Service Organizations Uniform Badge

ARTIFACT:

This is a gilt sterling silver World War II United Service Organizations (USO) badge in the shape of the letters U, S and O. The USO was formed in 1941 by the Roosevelt Administration to provide recreational activities and morale in general to troops.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 1/2" in height x 1-1/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch.

MARKINGS:

STERLING.
