ARTIFACT: This is a 1945 first edition hardcover copy of "Silversides", the story of the USS Silversides (SS-236). Launched August 26, 1941, Silversides went on fourteen Pacific World War II patrols, earning her twelve battle stars. The book was written by Robert Turnbull and printed by Henry Holt & Company.

VINTAGE: Published 1945.

SIZE: 217 pages; approximately 8-1/8" in height and 5-5/8" in width and 15/16" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cloth-bound cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.

MARKINGS: Copyright, 1945, by Henry Holt & Company, Inc. FIRST PRINTING; small "Little Acorn Bookshop, Pawtucket, Rhode Island" tag inside front page.

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fin-): The book shows some light aging and has a red stained area on its back cover; no rips, stains or writing inside book.
