ARTIFACT: This is a rare double submarine launching ribbon for the USS Picuda SS-382 and the USS Pampanito SS-383 from Portsmouth Naval Yard on July 12,1943. The ribbon bears the slogans: First-Boats-Build-In Building Basin" and "Will soon be on her way to avenge the sneak on Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941". Both submarines earned six battle stars for World War II service.

VINTAGE: Circa 1943.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/4" in width and 6-5/8" in length.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Printed silk.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBJX11 LGEX9/11

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The ribbon has some creasing and light wear along the edge.
