ARTIFACT: This is an extremely rare World War I (1918) American Red Cross Allied Theatrical & Motion Picture Team 2nd War Fund ribbon badge. The 2nd War Fund drive ran for a little over a week during May 1918. William Fox, the owner of Fox Film Corporation, was the campaign chairman. The silk ribbon hangs from a decorative bar, as does a small celluloid with a red cross at center. The badge was made by Whitehead & Hoag Company of Newark, New Jersey and still has the original manufacturer label on reverse.

VINTAGE: Circa May 1918 (WWI).

SIZE: Approximately 5-3/8" in length and 2-3/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass, celluloid, silk.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal safety-style pin.

MARKINGS: The Whitehead & Hoag Co. manufacturer label.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a WWI American Red Cross collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MDJX14 LEGEX9/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The ribbon has little wear with a few minor spots of discoloration to the reverse only.
