ARTIFACT: Extremely rare 1905 Maine Liquor Commission Deputy Enforcement Commissioner Badge. Only 23 Deputy Enforcement Commissioners existed for about a year before Maine's State Police force was formed. As with many things in early Maine Law Enforcement History, the power was turned over to the County Sheriff's. These badges were distributed to Maine's County Sheriffs to be given out to designated State Deputy Enforcement Commissioners within their respective counties.

VINTAGE: Circa 1905

SIZE: 2 1/4" x 2 2/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass and painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with "C" catch.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a collection of Maine state badges which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MGFJX13 LAGEX9/14

CONDITION: 10- (Near Mint): Remarkable condition, just about all of the paint remains in lettering. Gorgeous patina.
