Description
I believe this to be an extremely rare circa World War I Norton-Harjes ARC (American Red Cross) shoulder title. I have no actual reference to this artifact being what I purport it to be, save what I have seen as scant shadows on the British-type uniform shoulder epaulets in some period images of Norton-Harjes Ambulance Corps (also know as the American Volunteer Motor Ambulance Corps) drivers. The construction is of overseas origin, either from the UK or France, and the backing plate and wire attachment is nearly identical to the enameled American Red Cross roundel hat badges that the Corps wore. I cannot guarantee that it is definitely the shoulder title for a Norton-Harjes Ambulance Corps Driver uniform, but if anyone can tell me with authority that it is not, I will change the listing, or refund the purchase if it is already sold. Otherwise I am listing this insignia as such until further notice.
